Maze Procedure
Two for one – Robert Flammer of Bethlehem, Pa., is enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Esther, again. During one surgery, his leaky heart valve was repaired and a Maze procedure was performed to restore his normal heart rhythm.
During this surgical procedure, the heart is stopped and the patient is hooked up to a heart-lung machine. A series of incisions are made in your heart’s upper chambers to redirect its electrical signals and restore normal heart rhythm.
